Define the form to create context.
Each work is seeded by Objets trouvés, which I manipulate and deform until they lose their subject matter.
Thus arises a gap between original significance and recent context, that I utilize to give these open objects new meaning. Within this process I mirror my perception by using visual language as an associative manifestation. I make drastic, radical changes in color, structure and form until a new identity is conceived. My aim is to revive the conflict between the abstract inner- and the representational external world. This conflict provides the contact surface, which I investigate while playfully communicating with my work. It is an introspective research, resulting in abstract sculptures. A manifested conflict between structured, static, geometric and flowing natural forms.
There is no smooth transition between these two in my work, more a clean cut that frames and captures the context: Like our subjectivity, a hermetically sealed cell, isolated through a membrane.
This defining line separates the substance from space and continuously engages the observer in a game of perception, wherein he has to connect these parts of the work, so they can be united.
